Living for that dying moment and dying to live.

Kelly Dowdle was born and raised in Arlington, Texas.

A passionate and propelling leader, Kelly has the innate ability to put people around her at ease. She inherited her mother's unwavering faith and is grounded in her belief in Christ.  She strives to be in this world not of this world, spiritually, yet she lives life with abundant energy and has a huge heart. She is the girl in your corner cheering you on and willing to jump in with rolled-up sleeves at a moment's notice.

While you can instantly tell Kelly is confident and self-assured, she says one of her biggest challenges is believing in herself.

"It's hard to embrace a dream and go for it" she says. "To keep knowing you are worthy to excel."

But excel she has, and she continues to break barriers, pushing past the frontier of the norm. She left Texas at the drop of a hat, to embrace a dream in LA.

This fiesty, free-spirit says a pivital point in her life was the death of her cousin, Kristen.

Before she died, Kristen said "You will die. Whether you are 28 or 82 when you do, you only have one chance to live, so go for it!"

Kelly recently participated in the Nike Women's Run which raised $29 million for Lymphoma and Leukimia. She reached her fundraising goals months before the target date and continues passionately urging friends and loved ones to donate money or marrow.

"It's easy," she says. "Just go to bone marrow registry, they'll send you a kit so you can swab your cheek to see if you are match to someone."

The bone marrow extraction is painless.

"You may have some flu-like symptoms and soreness after," Kelly says, "but just imagine, you could save someone's life."

When asked what is one small action everyone could take to change the world, kelly answers without hesitation, "Give of yourself! Doing something for someone else makes you realize there is a bigger world out there, a bigger purpose than yourself." She urges us to get involved for the sheer joy it brings to know each person can make a difference. Only by stepping back and stepping out shall we truly embrace the bigger picture and find ourselves in it.
